Welcome, pull up a chair.

Welcome, pull up a chair.

Welcome to the Den! Pull up a chair, ignore the smoke and odd smells. Some of the smoke is helping me. Yeah helping. The rest...WELLLLLLL we wont talk bout that. Anyway. This is the Sorcerer's Den. The cat in the background glaring at you is Wynx. She's friendly-ish. This is the beginning of the interactive community lounge of The Sorcerer's Respite. Not looking to become the new Witchvox if anyone remembers that site back in the day. This is intended to be more laid back. As it grows I, we will try to accommodate. I know the intent of Website was different. i was referencing more so the magnitude of its effect to bring our community together as a single entity.

Anywho. yeah on that note. The blog is going to be rough around the edges in general. But in the Den. The Den is where we will get to express our most human side. and in thus. my blog writing will be severely laxed. with slang. Internet grammar. It will be my time for humanity to shine through that the artist on this end is not some corporate puppet or greedy capitalists. I am a true person, a true practitioner of the Occult and put my heart and soul into everything you see on this site and all its connected accounts.

The Idea behind the name and how it relates to the Den? The Idea behind the name was sort of accidental. Sort of not accidental. I always wanted to start a shop such as this one. I actually did for a while on another platform years ago. It was fun. I made some money, however. Life happened and i went a different career for a little while and now I'm back.

In the intent on the original attempt. and in the idea for the plans for this one, and as it has been in my dream always. Was to create the Sorcerer's Den. A lounge of sorts for those who practice the craft to kick back, get comfortable and informally freely discuss the ideas of the occult in real time. Or sort of real time. But also give the space for those same people in the same setting, that they have grown or are growing comfortable in. A safe space to discuss mundane normal things as well. to let that atmosphere flow naturally and fluidly.

The original name, or idea for a name in those plans was to call the den aspect The Sorcerer's Respite. Well my tarot deck and runes had other ideas. It was settled on that name for the shop. The more I loosely dug around I found loose references to historical Hookah bars, bars, and other cafe, bar, den like places for mages, magi, priest, etc. Existing in antiquity. Which I knew already, but I found more. Some of them were also like schools, and bazaars. Yes i know typical Bazaars sold magical items too. But these sold items for the practitioners of magick. Not superstitious artifacts for those not magickaly gifted.

This again was loose research. I'm not claiming to be remaking some historic, or chain of historic/ established historic organizations. But this still felt like a nudge in the right direction. so here we are. It is called the Den. Because it was the most neutral term I arrived at that sort of rolled off the tongue for iconography and branding. Branding for ease of common reference, not so much to capitalize off of. I will do a about your artist blog and will be transparent to a degree with you all about who I am and what I represent. I will still protect the branding because again other artists are involved and i plan on bringing on other artist who will work from within the organization. They will own this baby too and thus their work will be protected.

Den was neutral. The references found from the past were legit like hookah bars, and bars. Places, albeit sound fun. Might not resonate quite so friendly for some. (ignoring some were in cough opium ...dens) So to accommodate, I decided to not use the so fun terms. Thus, after searching the internet and asking friends what sounded more neutral.

Here we are. The Sorcerer's Den.

This is the portion where we all kick back. smoke em if you got em. keep everything in the Den RESPECTFUL.

Thank you for joining and hope you enjoy your stay. If you don't buy an item in the shop. At least, hopefully you like my art. Please tell me what you think.  If you like please tell your friends, and anyone you think may also like.
