Tiamat, The Glistening One. Mother of the Anunnaki. Mother of the Chaotic forces that shape and enforce the laws of the Universe. She is neither good nor Evil. Light Nor Darkness. She is the Embodiment of the Chaotic and necessary forces of the Universe and all of existence. She Transends dimensional barriers and space time itself. 

A brief on her history. According to the Sumerian Creation Epic, Tiamat birthed the rest of the Anunnaki. From there they started to war with each other. She sought her consorts help in quieting the strife of their children. Then in a cruel twist, her children. The Elder Gods slew her consort. She unleashed her rage and scorn on all of existence. She Birthed an Army of monsters. The Universe's first hoard of monsters and demons. She went to War with her children. Ea, rallied the Anunnaki. His son Marduk slew Tiamat in the ensuing war. Fashioning the universe from her remains. 

Her mythology spanned many tribes and cultures of the Fertile crescent. Over time, its believed she may be an earlier incarnate of the later Judaic Leviathan.

Other Important Info

She is the basis behind or could be the basis behind some of the mythology of CTHULHU. The Creation epic and her demise is, in some stories; reverberated as she is dead but alive, but asleep, dreaming of her return.  In some of those stories, her soul is kept in the underworld. Under the care of Erishkigal. Again I am not an Archeologist, nor do I have any educational Degree for anything to do with this. However in some lines of thought, Ea could eventually become or lend to Yahweh in later cultures. This could be why the devil, Satan, Adversarial entities in Judaic/ Christian Mythology are seen as serpent like. Whereas in other parts of the world developed serpents into embodiment of wisdom in some cases. Again do not take this info as THE law or authority on Tiamat. I am not a scholar or authority in this at all. 

No Sigil Exist for Tiamat that we know of, from antiquity or the past. There are Sigils for Tiamat floating around from modern culture however. She is seen as the First entity to have ever spawned, birthed or created demons, or demonic monsters. For this she is seen as the Queen, or Empress or The Definitive Leading Entity over all Demonic beings and forces in the world. This is counter weighted by the Idea that she is also the first being to create Celestial beings as well.  She is a being of Duality. She is the first of all beings, and thus first of all polarities in existence. Whatever influence you come to her for, she is also the supreme being with influence over the direct polar opposite of that same influence. She holds dominion over both and supreme being in both creation, and Destructive forces. 

My Personal Dogma

For me, Tiamat is the Supreme being of all things. I do not kneel to her, worship her or anything like that. I look up to her as a Maternal Figure. Well more so like a Great generational Maternal figure. Like a great grandmother. She sits dead, but alive. Sleeping, and dreaming in Tartarus. (i use the name Tartarus as a universal name for a specific underworld. not just the Greek definition, but essentially the same in what it is.) 

She is the Supreme Being for Demonology. Even if she is not closely related to the demon or demonic forces in question. It started from her or her descendants. I see that specific beings that are allied with the pursuit of independence from Yahweh and his council are seeking to free Tiamat from her bonds. I view her as wrongfully murdered form her children who then turn around and lie to all creation and claim their dominion under a falsehood of murder. 

The Poem in the image for the Blog is my personal Hymn to Tiamat. The image at the top of the Text is Her name in Cuneiform, Akkadian specifically. Since there is no known Sigil for her, the Cuneiform representation is what I use in place of a sigil.
